300-350 word composition on Pollution
Here's a great composition on Pollution for your reference for your homework. Hope this will be helpful.
God has gifted us with so many beautiful things like air, water, light, temperature, which are the most needed things for sustaining life on Earth. These all components together form the environment. If we see the environment, it is having great beauty. There are so many attractive animals, birds, insects, etc. But because of many human activities, these elements are being destroyed! The mixing of harmful substances into the environment is called pollution and these substances are known as pollutants.
Pollution can be done by a man or even by nature itself! The pollution done by man is the cause of emissions such as smoke from the industries and vehicles, dust particles from coal mining, chemicals mixed into water bodies by industries and factories, etc. The pollution caused by nature is done but just to maintain the balance of various essential elements on the Earth. It is done in the form of dust spreading from storms, smoke from Volcano eruption, etc.
Pollution is mainly of four types, i.e., Air pollution, Water pollution, Soil pollution, Noise pollution.
Air pollution is defined as the mixing of harmful substances in the air. Various human activities cause air pollution such as smoke from bonfires, factories, etc. Air pollution by nature is caused by dust from tornadoes, storms, etc. that stir up air and dust. Poisonous fumes from Volcano eruptions are another major natural cause. There are major harmful effects of air pollution. It causes acid rain, increases the greenhouse effect, global warming, depletion of the ozone layer, etc. To control air pollution, we should use precipitators which remove harmful particles before emitting the smoke from vehicles and industries. Public transport facilities must be made use of to avoid unwanted burning of petroleum and also avoid excessive smoke emission. Alternative fuels like CNG(Compressed Natural Gas) must be consumed.
Water pollution is defined as the mixing of poisonous substances into water, our precious Hydrosphere. It is caused by human activities like household wastes, chemicals, industrial wastes, etc. are pushed into nearby rivers and streams to cite a few examples. It causes various diseases like Cholera, Typhoid, Jaundice, etc. It also causes algal bloom(overgrowth of algae in water bodies). It also increases the demand for oxygen in water bodies. To control water pollution, we should not discharge sewage and chemicals into water bodies and we should not use insecticides and pesticides in excess.
Soil pollution is defined as the mixing of toxic substances into the soil, i.e., the top layer of crust (Lithosphere), on which we live. It is caused by various actions of human beings such as excess use of insecticides and pesticides, factory waste and plastic wastes, electromagnetics wastes that are disposed of in the open in the soil, commonly known as landfill. It also reduces the fertility of the soil by killing the useful microorganisms of the soil. With the increase of soil pollution, it becomes unable to produce sufficient crops for the population as the soil becomes not that productive to sustain better crops. To control soil pollutions, we should not dump waste in open, should not use plastic/polythene bags and instead use jute bags. Again, insecticides and pesticides should not be used in excess.
Noise pollution is defined as the unwanted sound which causes unpleasant effects and discomfort on the ears. It is caused by various electronic gadgets like loudspeakers, DJs, horns, etc. It causes severe headache, even leading to hearing loss(permanent deafness), sleeplessness, etc. Sound is measured in Db(Decibels). Sound above 80 Db is harmful to our ears. To prevent noise pollution, we should not see T.V. with a loud noise, don't use loudspeakers late at night and also stop the practices of late-night DJs. Plant more and more trees along the roadside as they can significantly reduce noise pollution by absorbing sound.
So at last, we conclude that humans are making new inventions but not looking towards nature and its balance that is being tormented by our activities. By increasing pollution, we are creating a threat to our own existence. Let's think again before performing the activities that cause pollution and take strict actions to avoid it.
I was already knowing the first line of the composition☺️
